Hello,

I am requesting help to construct an ultrasonic device that emits sound at
about 25Khz. Unlike most ultrasonic devices, I want the device to carry
sound over 100 feet (or 30 meters) and still be over 140 decibels at 100
feet (or 30 meters).

Does anyone know how I can do this? Plans? Actual devices? Please reply.

All I know of this is that the sirens on fire engines can do this for miles.

Do you want a monotone pizzo-electric tone generator or a circuit driven
device?

Option one find a pizzo-electric mfg for your 25Khz source and ask them what
it would take to produce this sound intensity

Option two build a circuit with the frequency you want and use some good
speakers and transistor power amplifier to drive your sound through the
speakers. Check the frequency response most Motorola outdoor speakers have a
frequency response from 10Khz -45Khz they re used in industrial anti-noise
cancellation devices.

But here is the catch the higher the frequency from observations the more
power it takes to amplify the Db and if I remember right the sound intensity
is proportionally inverse to the distance away so if you still had 140Db at
30 Meters it would probably cause severe headaches, and possible deafness
within 20 ft of the sound source.

I have a circuit that generates tones from 20-45Khz if you want I could sell
you a board or two so you could start , or I could sell you the schematics
possibly , I have a pest control device that I have designed that uses low
ultrasound and the sound intensity is fairly high all you would have to do
is change the values of the amplifier part of the circuit and possibly it
would work for your proposes, e-mail or call me if you want further help.
