Sorry for a naive question from someone who has been out of touch for
longer than he cares to admit.

I anticipate having to project photographic images - what used to be
called a slide show, but the 35mm slides are apparently a thing of the
past and I need to find out what's done now.

I could burn the images onto a cd, but that does not seem to be format
that is used by modern presentation projectors. Just how does one do a
slide show these days?

Unfortunately, the most popular format seems to be to insert digitized
photos into a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, then display them with
an LCD projector.
